Boiled Potatoes/Kokte Poteter
Boiled Potatoes/Kokte Poteter
Parsley is a favorite garnish for boiled potatoes. In the summer, Norwegians grow their own parsley outside, and in the winter they grow it in small indoor pots placed near a window.
Ingredients
– 6 medium-sized potatoes
– 1 tsp. salt
– 2 tbsp. butter or margarine
Instructions
Step 1:
Peel potatoes and place them in a pan of cold, salted water. (The water should just cover potatoes.)
Step 2:
Cover the pan and place over high heat. Allow potatoes to boil until tender (about 15 to 20 minutes). When a fork goes into potatoes easily, drain off water.
Step 3:
Put the lid back on the pan and return to the stove to keep warm. (Make sure that the burner under the pan is off.) Add butter or margarine and parsley before serving.
