Steamed Tofu / Dau hui hap

Sweet potatoes with peanuts (top) is a common breakfast dish in southern Vietnam.Tofu (bottom) is a good source of protein for vegetarians.

Ingredients

Serves 4
– 1 lb. firm tofu, cut into chunks*
– 2 tbsp. soy sauce
– 2 thin slices of ginger, finely chopped or sliced.
– ½ c. chopped scallions
– ¼  tsp. salt
– ¼  tsp. pepper
– ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes

Instructions

Step 1:
Place all ingredients in a heatresistant bowl and mix well.

Step 2: 
Place ½ c. water in steamer and bring to a boil over high heat. Place bowl with tofu into steamer. Cover and steam over medium heat for 25 minutes

Step 3:
Serve hot, with rice or alone.
