Norwegian waffle irons make heart-shaped waffles, instead of the square waffles (shown) produced by North American waffle irons.


        5 eggs

        1/2 c. sugar

        1 c. flour

        1 tsp. ground cardamom seed

        3/4 c. sour cream

        1/4 c. butter.


Step 1:
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar for about 5 minutes, or until fluffy.

Step 2:
Whisk in the flour, cardamom, and sour cream. Whisk until smooth and creamy.

Step 3:
Melt the butter and stir it into the mixture. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Step 4:
Spray the waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray, or coat with butter. Cook waffles in the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Serve with jam or whipped cream.
